Why don't I don't show up when you search for my name in Myspace...?

Hi all, I just created a new myspace profile today and I set my account setting to "private."

However, when I tried to search for my profile (in other words, I tried to look myself up) under the "Find a Friend" function (I searched "by name," btw), no results turned up. Pretend my name is John Doe.

With the "Find a Friend" search ("by name," NOT by "display name," btw) I entered John Doe. Two other peoples' profiles (with apparently the same name?) showed up, but neither one is me. Then I entered "John Doe" (with quotes). This yielded NO results. Point being: I'm not showing up as a user at all under the Myspace search, when searching by name. If I search by my e-mail however, then you find my profile.

So I'm wondering, why can't anyone (like old friends from high school who don't know my e-mail/URL) find me by searching by my "Name" (first/last)? I don't think it's cuz it's set to private either...I'm abl

I think if you're under 18 and your account is set to private, they can't find you. Tough luck

its probably either because u have a new profile and it might take a while to update (but it shouldnt) ... or becuase your set to private. try making it purblic and searching your self again.

i know this it happen to me.

you have to fix it, go to edit account, and search around make sure your name is put on complete,

make sure your first and last name show, do it if any help let me know i will help ya out.

It's set up as "PRIVATE".
