Let them know you would like to set up an account for myspace with a privacy setting that will only allow you to communicate to those you've approved. If you come to them with a plan and a course of action they will take you more seriously. If you are wiling to allow them access to your myspace by showing them your account once it's been posted that may also give you some "brownie points" with your parents.

Maybe if you compromise with them and give them your myspace info so they can look at your page whenever they want so that they will be comfortable that you're not sharing too much info about yourself, etc. They love you and just want to know you are safe. It depends if your over 14. If not, then you should not have a myspace. But if you are then just say what you said in your question. Just to let you know first of all, NEVER!!! put your pictures of yourself or your friends on their or anything that you put on the internet because even though you can block your page from people that aren't your friends, those people can still get on your page and to stuff you thought you protected yourself from. I am telling you this because about 2 years ago this one girl had a myspace and she thought the person that was talking to her was her boyfriend but it really wasn't. It was this one girl from her school that hated her and when they met up with eachother the girl murdered the other girl. hopefully that didn't scare you but if it did sorry i just wanted to let you know why it is the best thing to not put any personal stuff (even though it is only to your friends and is blocked) on myspace. MYSPACE is DANGEROUS but very awesome at the same time lol:-)

it's only safe in private if you only invite your closest friends. inviting strangers will be your undoing.

they probably still won't let you unless you give them the username and password. don't be mad at them for this. they only want to keep you from harm. kids see the fun and not the danger.

First of all point out that you can set your profile to private so that it can only be viewed by people you approve. they send you a friend request and you can either approve or deny. Make sure you give your parents your password so they can moniter you. Lots of pervs out there. Im a perv too but not after children.

Another thing you can do is when you set up your myspace page dont give them your correct info. You can set up a page using a false name. I did. And any abuse or inapropriate stuff you or your parents see can be flagged and the myspace page of the offender will be deleted.
