The reason they call it private is because it's...private. If you could access it, it would be public, not private.

sometimes if you set yours to private (temporarily if you want) you can access someone else's who's private - supposedly anyways don't know if this is true. It depends how they have their account set up I heard.
The only other way - and this is kinda depending how desperate you are wanting to see their profile - but you can create a fake profile and then try to add them as a friend so they don't know it's really you... but chances are they have it set to private and may not accept adds too easy.
