Google myspace layouts and it will give you many options of webpages. Those webpages will have differant catorgories look and the backgorounds pick one and then under the pick (or somewhere near it) there will be a code. Copy and paste it to your about me section (this can be found on your myspace homepage go to edit profile). Then save and view profile see if you like it.
PS dont pay for them there are so many sites that are for free.
I have seen Myspace pages set to private with backgrounds on them; how do you add one?
I'm not exactly sure but I think it is some sort of a code in their layout. I will edit my answer if I do find an answer for you though.
