Why are most Myspace profiles in the US is private while international ones are public?

Why is that? Does that make them look cool or what?

Why are most Myspace profiles in the US is private while international ones are public?

Various reasons: parents, stalkers, privacy, your potential boss could check it, you could get fired for pictures, skeletons in the closet...

There are things people have the right to hide. Even though we have lives outside of work, our friends, our families, we are still judged pretty harshly for whatever we do. If we go out and have a drink and someone happens to take a picture of it, and it's posted, it becomes a problem, even though you're not coming into work drunk, going to family events drunk, etc.

Check out my source to see about the potential college graduate that was denied her teaching diploma by her university.

Because they don't want their parents to look at them.

It just shows how repressed our society is. Abroad, their parents don't care about "Myspace", but here parents are learning to check for their kids' pages.

I think people in the U.S. (especially females) are worried about stalkers and sexual predators...maybe people from other countries don't have as many problems with these sickos like we do...

And it's just for your safety...adding someone you don't know is also a bad idea, who knows who it really is, you know?
